What compares after that friday night? Well, Fleu and I enjoyed a late breakfast-we slept until past noon after staying out until some un-godly hour-four-ish? Bernard and the other fellow whose name escapes all memory came over and hung out for tea and music and dancing. We were asked if we were in love-naturally!
Anyway, Fleu and I visited the Champs where we met up with her dear friend petite alex and we visited Sephora so that Fleu could get a make-over before she saw her petite ami-Eduward. Before she left me, she very kindly left me her cell phone and strict instructions to petite alex to take very good care le americane. I get the impression that I was looked on as a dear but slightly simple young girl who labored under the delusion that she really was speaking french-ha!
I can understand it better than I can speak it, I persist in insisting. Petite alex is a riot although almost sketchy beyond repair. But he is a dear, I'll stand by him and I feel so remorseful for standing him up that one time-he bought me a gift and everything. Another story my dears. Plus the fact that when he wrote me a petite email, I was utterly confused as to who petite alex was! I made it into yet another riotous story for Karen and Estoine even though I finally remembered. "Somebody named petite alex would like to meet for drinks at Chatlet!" Which reminds me, I should keep him and have a french pen pal-tres bon idee!
We went to dinner at his friends' little flat and the company was diverting and educational especially since I was forbade to speak in english. One thing that seemed a constant theme is that the young men were insistent on taking it upon themselves to educate me, Daniel, Morrocain boy, etc. This is the way it is done or you must only speak french now...
I died a little from laughter when petite alex grumbled that speaking to me had caused him to acquire an american accent when he spoke french. I also accidentally called him a russe! Pardon moi!
