What is the most unusual word that you have ever heard?

“’patati patata’ – technically two words but it means ‘etc’ – i heard it in france constantly out of the mouth of a malagasy girl”

Yeah, reading about other people’s experiences and cultures surely help make us become more tolerating of things that we are not exposed to..

We usually underestimate the capability of children to understand things, but i guess their innocence makes them open-minded. I once lived with a family of three, and their only kid didn’t understand or speak any language other than English. The family just moved in to another province, and even the parents had to learn a new dialect. What I found amazing was that this little girl, who only spoke and understood English, would play with the next door neighbor, who only spoke and understood the local dialect! They could communicate somehow, and they got along well. Just amazing—if only adults would take time&effort to understand one another like that!
