a broad in jamaica

this is supposed to be related to trips i've made to other places and not my home country but i wanted to add another angle to the whole experience. so i'll talk about issues that are considered to be 'real' in this journal. being at home and touring my island home, how people feel about me being a traveller, life with friends...

my summary of the weekend? absolute heaven, a wonderful way to reconnect or rather deepen the connection with the lover of my soul and my heart and my mind.

part two

after ras dajazmach had finished reasoning with his brethren, we settled in, and fixed a lunch of escoveitch fish, which my kingman had made at work the night before, and mangoes and jimbelin and ripe bananas and oranges. we fed each other lunch out on the patio and then we sat out in the front garden overlooking the west end cliff. the music of the waves dashing against the cliff wall was soothing and we just lay there on the wooden lounge chairs and admired the 7 mile stretch of sparkling white sand beach. "is that really 7 miles?" i asked incredulously. it looked like just one giant step away. "yep," replied dajazmach. we got so much into each other and into the excitement and wonder of the moment that we went back inside to lie in each other's arms.

later on in the evening we watched the sunset on the beach while taking mad pictures of ourselves in bed then we dozed off. when we got up around 20h we had a pasta dinner with a guinness and red bull mixed drink. we sat and chatted and decided to go out to find some beach party around 22h30 or so. about that time we got dressed in matching white shorts sets, got our well chilled bottle of champagne and headed for the beach. we parked the car in the boat bar compound, and went to hail up a friend of dajazmach who had a little place named 'unique gift shop' on the beach beside the bar. we had a drink, took some photos then walked along the beach barefooted heading in the general direction of music we could hear thumping from some distance down the beach.

when we got there they said there was a cover charge for entry so we simply spread our towels right outside on the beachfront and enjoyed the music, and the remainder of the champagne. we danced to a few tracks and people watched from our comfy position in the shadows, kissing each other from time to time. about two hours later we walked back along the beach towards the boat bar, with dajazmach having to support my tipsy stumbling all the way. we stopped at another bar on the beach, listened to an old man playing some romantic oldies on his guitar and belting out tune after tune in an eerie little voice. a white middle aged couple was sitting at the bar as well as a young white guy who seemed to be on his own. he looked like he had had one two many. we got two more bottles of guinness and continued our walk.

we got back to the cottage about half an hour later and i got into bed. dajazmach cluttered about downstairs for a while as i lay in bed cooling off under the ceiling fan. needless to say the night was an excellent one. after we woke up around 8h on sunday we put on the loose white cotton pants and shirts we wore for prayer on the sabbath. we went down to the beach, held a soft sweet meditation and communion with the water, took pictures of me in my bikini and dajazmach showing his sexy abs and pecs, then headed back to the cottage to prepare for the drive back to kingston.

my summary of the weekend? absolute heaven, a wonderful way to reconnect or rather deepen the connection with the lover of my soul and my heart and my mind. try it soon and do it ever so often with that special someone. check out the pics.

more peace. more love.
