I've had my firsts...
September 20th, a Sunday, marked the start of my first international trip.I had my firsts - first international flight, first business trip, first international conference, last September 2009. I represented our company during the WYSTC Conference held for 1 whole week at Manchester and spent another week visiting clients and universities in London and Oxford. It was a busy yet fun trip! The Start of my JourneyFor months, I have prepared myself for the business trip and September 20th, a Sunday, marked the start of my first international trip. From Tacloban City, I took an hour flight to Manila and waited 2 hours for my Manila to Doha flight. I arrived in Doha after a 9-hour flight and it was around 10 pm. My next flight for Manchester is at 7am which is obviously a 9-hour overlay wherein I stayed at the airport as I didn't reserve a hotel. I spent the first few hours preparing myself for the clients I will be meeting at the conference using my laptop, however, I ran out of power and when I was looking for an available post where I can charge my laptop, I found out that the sockets used are Type G (three rectangular sockets forming a triangle) and my bad as I didn't have the right adaptor. I spent the next hours roaming around the airport and trying to get some sleep. My Doha to Manchester flight took 8 hours and arrived in Manchester at around 1pm.Tips: - Bring with you 13-amp adaptor (has three rectangular prongs forming a triangle)- Reserve a hotel for a long overlay. If you don't have the budget to do that, make sure to bring with you a book to read on and coat to keep you warm; it's sooo cold. =)- always be watchful of your things.
